Ethiopian food is served on centerpiece platters over Injera, accompanied by plates of more Injera, To eat, you simply tear off pieces of injera and scoop up bites of food. Our traditional menu incorporates beef, lamb and chicken. And due to the Orthodox Church's fasting seasons Vegetarian dishes come in abundance and variety of flavors.
The flavorings are usually cooked slowly in kibe, a clarified butter with Ethiopia-grown chili peppers combining with ginger, garlic, onions, spices, basil and a host of less familiar flavorings like bishop's weed, which resembles thyme, and 'enset' (banana tree like) plant powder.

  This food is so good! You can tell she cooks with love! Real food, can't be beat! My husband and I have both been craving it since the last time we ate there. Go! Eat!

  Very tasty, freshly prepared, affordable quality authentic Ethiopian food. Grocery store. Very small, so takeout only. Some seating at couple small tables outside on sidewalk, right on Telegraph Ave., usually busy street. All vegan. Drink cooler inside. Have to purchase bottled water or other beverage to drink. Friendly service.

  This place is unbelievably good. Do not be deceived by its humble appearance, the food is mind-blowing! For $6 (As of July 2016) you can get a half order of veggie combo and $9.99 a full order. I was full with a half order. Everything is gluten free, they even have vegan options. To-go only, but you can sit outside at the tables.
